For Your Safety

All individuals entering the Flight Line area through the admission gate are subject to search. Please come early, pay careful attention to all signs and announcements, and be patient. These procedures are in place to ensure the safety of those attending the Air Show.

For those looking at aircraft closely, please ask an attendant to escort you around the aircraft. It is critical that you stay away from aircraft propellers at all times. Even when engines are off, propellers can move suddenly and cause bodily harm.

COVID-19 Protocols - None. Wearing a mask is strictly the Patrons choice. You are welcome to take advantage of any sanitizing station available around the area to protect yourself and others.

Pilots must review the NOTAMS for the Burnet Airport.

General Information:

What time is the Air Show?

Gates will be open to the public at 9:00 a.m. Static aircraft displays to the public will be available from 9:00 a.m. to 11:30. The program begins at approximately 12:00. Air Show performances start at 12:30 p.m.

Where is the Air Show?

The Bluebonnet Air show takes place at the Burnet Airport which is located on the South side of the city on Highway 281.

What about Parking?

Signs and police officers will direct you to parking. There will be free parking located on the east side of Highway 281 behind the Cecil auto dealership (large U.S. flag). This is a short walk to the airport. There will be no shuttle bus service from the free lot, however paid parking will be available for $10 per vehicle north of the airport. Shuttle service will be available from this location continuously during the air show.

Handicap and sponsor parking will be available inside the gate.

Parking is first come, first served. It is recommended you arrive early.

How much is admission to the Air Show?

Air show identification must be worn and displayed during air show for security.

Air Show Sponsors and guest seating is provided and have access to all amenities in the preferred seating area tent.

Will an ATM (Automated Teller Machine) be available?

Yes, there will be ATM machines on site this year.

Permitted/Prohibited Items:

Are open carry weapons allowed?

No. No open carry pursuant to Texas Penal Code 30.07

Are folding/beach chairs allowed

Yes.

Are tents or awnings allowed?

No.

Are coolers allowed into the event?

No.

Will outside food be allowed?

No. Food and drinks can be purchased on site from various vendors.

Will alcoholic beverages be allowed?

Only those beverages sold by air show vendors.

Will strollers and wheelchairs be available for rental?

No.

Will pets be allowed to enter the Air Show?

No. You will be asked to leave if you bring a pet.

Are bikes, skateboards, roller blades, skates, or kick or electric scooters be allowed?

No.

Are there any restrictions on bringing weapons to this event?

No open carry pursuant to Texas Penal Code 30.07

Are FRS/GMRS radios allowed?

FRS/GMRS radios are permitted. VHF band and other scanners are also permitted, but transmitters/transceivers are not.


Tickets & Seating

How can I get preferred seating tickets to the Air Show?

For non-sponsors, we also have flight-line seating for an additional $5.00, however availability is limited to first-come-first-served.

Please use sunscreen.

You will be outside for several hours and may catch a sun burn.

What is the performance schedule?

Because of many last-minute changes in performers and schedules, exact times are not available. There will be continuous aerial and ground excitement from the start of the show until the show closes, as well as static displays, and vendor booths.


Transportation & Parking

How do I know where to park? Is there a shuttle?

When you arrive in Burnet, road signs will direct you to available parking lots.

Generally, free parking lots are behind Cecil auto dealership (large U.S. flag).

Paid shuttle parking will be available north of the airport @ $10.00 per vehicle.

Handicap and sponsor parking be will located inside the airport main gate.

How much is parking?

General parking is free. It is located across the highway from the Airport, behind Cecil's Auto Dealership. There will be no shuttle service from the free parking lots.

Paid parking is north of the airport and free shuttle service will be provided continuously throughout the day. Paid parking is $10.00 per vehicle.

Handicap parking (free, with permit) at the airport, follow the signs. Note handicapped parking is first come, first served.

Will there be RV/travel trailer parking?

No RVs or travel trailers are permitted on airport grounds.

What about riding a motorcycle?

Motorcycles should park in the same parking lots as automobiles.

Is handicapped parking available? If so, where will they be directed for parking?

Yes, handicapped parking is available. If your vehicle has a handicapped license plate decal or windshield pass, you should enter the airport through the entrance gate. Handicapped parking is limited and is available on first come first served basis.

Do you have a handicap shuttle on the flight line?

No.

Can I fly my own plane into Burnet?

The airspace will be very busy before the Air Show. Ramp space is very limited. Ramp space priority is granted to air show acts over private planes. You must land and secure your aircraft before 11:00 a.m. After that time, airspace is restricted until 4:00 p.m.
